Jos | Jos Township Stadium | Renovation | 44,000 Seat | U/C

Quote:
Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has assured that the Jos Township Stadium currently being reconstructed to accommodate 44,000 spectators would be completed before the end of next year.

The governor who gave the assurance yesterday during a tour of the stadium which is located on the Zaria Road area of the state capital, Jos, reiterated that the stadium is a project guaranteed to meet FIFA standards when completed.

"From what I have seen and given our commitment to the project and assurances of the contractors, the stadium will be ready for use before the end of the year," the governor told newsmen who covered the facility tour.

Lush synthetic grass and colourful athletics turf already grace the stadium, although much work still remains to be done to have in Jos an alternative to the Rwang Pam Stadium located around the Jos city centre.

The Jonah Jang government showed determination to finish the long-delayed project when it re-awarded it to BCC Tropical Nigeria Limited, widening its capacity from the original 20,000 seating capacity to 44,000 and resolving to make it the best stadium in Nigeria.
