I drove from Capitol Hill to Bellingham yesterday. Once you got north of Skagit county, it was nice.

What you see outside right now is what you'll see until Wed night at the earliest, Welcome back to Seattle " Summer "

Area of Low pressure dropping down out of BC will result in shitty typical cloudiness interspersed with occasional showers, and muckiness.

Enjoy!!!

OK, well here's hoping the clouds break further this evening as tonight looks to be our best chance of seeing the aurora, Kp index is currently a "6" and forecast to briefly go as high as an "8" which is SUPER RARE for us but in any event, IF the clouds continue to break and the Kp index goes higher I highly suggest you go outside after dark and look for and enjoy the aurora if you can.

Out of the blue the T-storm threat tonight and tomorrow has jumped from 15% to 80% with several T-storm cells NOW popping up along the west crest of the cascades moving from East to West just like Friday, and one cell just moved through my place here in W. Sea moments ago with a couple lightning strikes, cell is rapidly intensifying as it moves WEST towards Bremerton. Do NOT be suprised if you are awaken later this evening with more T-storms developing.

The national weather service is saying sunny and a high of 72 on Saturday, so it may not be really hot but it'll still be nice sunny weather for the beach!

Likely a VERY good bet Jesse, New WRF - GFS has a new ULL sitting right on top of us ALL weekend, Below normal and rainy.

ALSO....

Looking at the newest output this AM, The ULL over the Ore/CA border is finally kicking out of the area but as it does ( moving NE ) into E. Wa, it will enhance CAPE over the area and LI's over -5 and DP's ( dewpoints ) in the mid 60's to lower 70's, we are likely going to be seeing a WIDESPREAD threat of T-storms this evening and overnight ( bordering on Severe ) especially after sunset... Similar to last Friday although earlier time frame.

We could be looking at a pretty spectacular light show across much of the area later this evening and into tomorrow.

I personally take responsibility for the bad weather. Girlfriend's parents are visiting from back east AND sun-smug friends are flying in from AZ for the weekend too. Naturally it will be murky and below-normal temps.

Yup, and the MM5 was even more bullish with the DP's showing mid to upper 70's ( I'm not buying that ) due to the poor resolution but if the DP's are in fact in the above aforementioned range then we could be looking at some big and long lived storms tonight and overnight.

Its really comfortable tonight though. With the clouds coming in from the S it really kept temps moderate so dining al fresco with the ladies was fun. And went too long. And I spent too much. ugh.
