Well, my other half might take some pursuading, but the scenery up there is quite breathtaking. I was there in October 2009 and had driven from the south west having spent time in NE, SD and (for about 20 miles) ND. The contrast was amazing. I went north first staying in Detroit Lakes then Ely before drving down the Lakeshore to Duluth. The leaves had turned and were utterly breathtaking. A couple of weeks later I was in New England, famed for it's Fall colours, and the foliage was nothing compared to MN.

Maybe I need a hefty lottery win so I can buy a cabin up near Ely and spend Spring and Fall there each year.
