இதுகுறித்து தஞ்சை மாவட்ட ரயில் பயணிகள் சங்க துணை தலைவர் கிரி கூறுகையில், ரயில்வே பட்ஜெட்டிலும், ஆண்டுதோறும் ஜூலை 1ம் தேதி திருத்தி அமைக்கப்படும் ரயில்வே கால அட்டவணையிலும் தஞ்சை மாவட்டம் புறக்கணிக்கப்படுகிறது. தஞ்சையிலிருந்து சென்னைக்கு புதிய ரயில் இயக்க வேண்டுமென கடந்த 2 ஆண்டாக கோரிக்கை விடுத்தும் பலனில்லை. இம்மாவட்ட மக்கள் அண்டை மாவட்டங்களை நம்பியை ரயில் பயணத்தை தொடர வேண்டிய நிலை உள்ளது என்றார். bகும்பகோணம்,: மயிலாடுதுறை- கன்னியாகுமரி மற்றும் தஞ்சை- விழுப்புரத்திற்கு பாசஞ்சர் ரயில்கள் இயக்க வேண்டுமென பயணிகள் கோரிக்கை விடுத்துள்ளனர்.
தஞ்சை, கும்பகோணம், மயிலாடுதுறை மார்க்கத்தில் கடந்த 2003வரை 8க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மீட்டர் கேஜ் ரயில்கள் சென்னைக்கு இயக்கப்பட்டன. இதனால் தஞ்சை மாவட்டத்திற்கு எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலில் தினமும் 1,500 படுக்கை வசதிகள் கிடைத்தன. அகல பாதையாக மாற்றப்பட்ட பிறகு சென்னை செல்ல மலைக்கோட்டை, மன்னை, கம்பன் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயில்களை மட்டுமே தஞ்சை மாவட்ட மக்கள் நம்பியுள்ளனர். மலைக்கோட்டை எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் திருச்சியில் இருந்து இயக்க வேண்டுமென திருச்சி மக்கள் ரயில்வே நிர்வாகத்திடம் கோரி வருகின்றனர். கம்பன் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் வரும் அக்டோபர் 11ம் தேதியிலிருந்து மயிலாடுதுறை, பேரளம், திருவாரூர் வழியாக சென்னைக்கு இயக்கப்படும் நிலையில் தஞ்சையிலிருந்து சென்னைக்கு புதிய ரயில் வேண்டும். சோழன் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயிலின் படுக்கை வசதியை, இருக்கை வசதியாக மாற்ற வேண்டும். தஞ்சை-விழுப்புரம் மற்றும் மயிலாடுதுறை-கன்னயகுமாரி வரை பாசஞ்சர் ரயில் இயக்க வேண்டுமென கடந்த சில ஆண்டாக தஞ்சை மக்கள் தொடர்ந்து மனு அளித்து வருகின்றனர்.
கும்பகோணத்தில் கடந்த சில நாட்களுக்கு முன் ஆய்வு பணிக்காக வந்த திருச்சி கோட்ட மேலாளர் மஞ்சுளா ரெங்கராஜனிடம் இதுபற்றி கேட்டபோது, திருச்சி கோட்டத்தில் ரயில் பெட்டிகள் பற்றாக்குறை உள்ளது. நான் தற்போது தான் பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ளேன்.
விரைவல் தஞ்சை மாவட்ட மக்களின் தேவைகள் நிறைவேற்றப்படும். புதிய ரயில் இயக்குவது பற்றி உயர் அதிகார¤களுக்கு தெரிய ப்படுத்தியுள்ளோம் என் றார்

Necessary steps would be taken to improve Nagercoil town railway station (Pallivilai) and all trains would go without touching the Kottar junction for the benefit of passengers who could save time.

However, all trains which are being operated from the Kottar railway station would be continued as usual, according to the Divisional Railway Manager, Raju Agarwal.

He made a surprise inspection of all railway stations in the district and reviewed the ongoing development works on Thursday along with other officials.

Later speaking to presspersons, he ruled out the construction of an additional railway station at Parvathipuram saying that it was very difficult to construct a railway station at Parvathipuram, owing to lack of land to the railway.

The electrification work between Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari has been completed and Southern Railway is operating electric trains on this route.

Meantime, electrification between Nagercoil and Tirunelveli had been completed in June.

After trial run, trains would be operated on this route.

When asked about development works in Kanyakumari railway station, he said that the Southern Railway would explore ways to improve infrastructure facilities in the station so that the trains reaching to Kanyakumari should not be brought back to Nagercoil railway station for maintenance.

Meanwhile, Kanyakumari District Railway Users’ Association here has urged the Southern Railway to construct an additional railway station at Parvathipuram as it is the one among the swiftly developing areas in the district.

Memorandum submitted

In a memorandum to the Divisional Railway Manager, the president of the association, S.R. Sree Ram said that Kanyakumari district was a hub of educational institutions and hence quite a large number of people from Thiruvananthapuram and neighbouring areas come to the district daily and as it was very difficult for them to catch buses from Nagercoil and Kottar railway stations to reach their colleges, formation of a railway station should be taken into consideration.

This was stressed by member of Lok Sabah, J. Helen Davidson, who met the DRM.

The association president sought to introduce pre-paid autorickshaw and taxi both from the Kottar and town railway stations for the benefit of passengers.

The members asked the DRM to take immediate steps to reduce the parking fee for two wheelers in Kottar railway station.

The Regional Divisional Manager (operation), Ravichandran, Divisional Engineer, Venkat Rao, Assistant Divisional Engineer, Fernandez, and other officials accompanied the Divisional Railway Manager.

மணல் கடத்தல், அரிசி கடத்தல், போக்குவரத்தை ஒழுங்கு செய்தல், குற்றவாளிகளின் வாகனங்களை அடையாளம் காண்பது உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு காரணங்களுக்காக குமரி மாவட்டத்தில் சுமார் 37 சோதனை சாவடிகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

அதில் முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த சோதனை சாவடிகளாக ஆரல்வாய்மொழி, களியக்காவிளை, படந்தாலுமூடு, நெட்டா, பனச்சமூடு, கோழிவிளை, சிறியகொல்லி உள்ளிட்ட 9 சோதனை சாவடிகள் முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்ததாக கருதப்படுகிறது.<

இந்த சோதனை சாவடிகள் அனைத்தும் மாவட்ட எல்லையிலும், மாநில எல்லையிலும் அமைந்துள்ளது. இந்த சோதனை சாவடிகளில் ஒரு சப்-இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் மற்றும் 2 போலீசார் சுழற்சி முறையில் 24 மணி நேரமும் கண்காணிப்பில் ஈடுபட்டு இருப்பார்கள். அவர்களின் கண்ணிலும் மண்ணை தூவிவிட்டு பொருட்கள் கடத்தும் லாரிகள், குற்றவாளிகள் தப்பிச்சென்று வருகின்றனர்.

இனி சோதனைச் சாவடியை தாண்டிச்செல்லும் அனைத்து வாகனங்களும் காமிராவில் பதிவாகி விடும். அவற்றை சாவடிக்குள் அமைந்திருக்கும் சி.சி.டி.வியில் போலீசார் கண்காணித்துக் கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள். இதனால் போலீசார் தடுத்தும் நிற்காமல் செல்லும் வாகனங்கள், பொருட்களை கடத்தும் வாகனங்கள், குற்றவாளிகள் தப்பிச்செல்லும் வாகனங்கள் அனைத்தையும் உடனடியாக கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியும்.

தொடர்ந்து குமரி மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள அனைத்து சோதனை சாவடிகளிலும் கண்காணிப்பு காமிரா பொருத்தவும் மாவட்ட காவல்துறை திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.
