Dh250 million: Dubai’s costliest property ever advertised for sale
Palm Jumeirah mansion has private cinema, gymnasium, four majlis, indoor and outdoor swimming pools... besides a lot else
By Parag Deulgaonkar
Published Monday, July 09, 2012

A 45,000-square feet mansion, built on four plots (60,000 square feet) at the tip of one of the fronds on the Palm Jumeirah, is up for sale.

The mansion, the Dubai-based agency appointed to sell the villa, says it is “the costliest property ever advertised for sale in Dubai” with the asking price being Dh250 million, or Dh5,555 per square feet. And it is non-negotiable.

Type D shoreline, about 1,500 sq ft, but park-facing with no sea view might fetch AED 1.49m. But they never fetched AED 4.92m in 2008. Maybe they are referring to Golden Mile apartments but would be surprised if they ever fetched that amount either. Probably just a bullshit article.

The beam itself will never be painted. Over time, painted beams look much worse than the raw concrete. It's not to say the support structure can't be painted.

12th of August 2012

Nakheel has sold a prime plot of land on Palm Jumeirah for AED 400 million to a local investor, the company announced today (Sunday, 12 August).
*
The 305,704 sqft plot – on Palm Jumeirah Trunk – was bought for AED 1,302 per sq ft.
*
A Nakheel spokesman said: “There are clear signs of renewed investor confidence in Dubai real estate and in particular for unique products such as those offered on Palm Jumeirah.** We have seen a very healthy demand in the first half of 2012, and this looks set to continue for the year.”
*
Residential plot prices in some parts of The Palm – notably Frond N – have increased by 30 per cent in the last year, said Nakheel. To date over 80 (out of a total of 105) plots have been sold with a total sales value of over AED 657 million.
*
“Land and properties on Palm Jumeirah are in big demand thanks to its unique design, location and ever-increasing range of amenities, including new hotels and resorts, public parks, our forthcoming Pointe recreation and retail development such as Palm Mall and more facilities to be announced soon.” The spokesman added

btw stupid question, can we cross to the palm on foot? or is the only access road the monorail and highway?
