I saw Deliverance for the first proper time last year (I'd seen bits and pieces before and was aware what it was about), and it's a hell of a good movie. Damn scary stuff, enough to put me off any camping trips. The banjo part is also excellent, I've heard the song many times, but seeing it in the movie sets the scene for what's coming up.

i wanted to see Drive at the movies but didnt, finally watched it tonight on dvd, very good movie. Filtered throughout is an atmospheric 80's feel while its set in the present. The opening few minutes i posted gives a better idea for the feel of the movie than any of the trailers really do. Its not the fast and furious the title might lead you to believe. Even when it does escalate (unexpectedly) to some very tense and heart pumping scenes (which for the most part dont involve any driving) it keeps from becoming just another carhoon teen movie.

Went to see the Avengers a while back.....next. 1.5/5
Also went to see Prometheus and felt quite let down. Most things were good but references to religion and the constant unexplained situations just made it a little tedious. Shame as it promised so much. 3/5 |

the scary thing is Australias Port Arthur massacre tops any in the US to this day and remains in the top 10 in the world for number of fatalities by a single person. He killed 35 people that day in 1996.

Finally got around to seeing the movie Ted and I thought it was good. 7/10
It's pretty much like Family Guy with Ted being a sort of composite Brian/Stewie |

looks interestingPA4 Trailer, will be watching for the jumps and scares more than anything, always get at least a few good ones in every PA movie! The premise sounds alright, it follows events after PA2, where Katie kidnapped baby Hunter then disappeared.

wow. looks pretty in-depth. My type of movie. Bit of hostory, bit of future, bit of present, and thought provoking - I like.
But that was a long trailer, I think they may have shown most of the highlights of the movie. Also felt a little disappointed when I saw Tom Hanks - dont get me wrong he is one of my favourite actors but i cant help think of him in other roles. No sooner had I got comfortable with Tom Hanks did Hugo Weaving pop up. Same thing. I expected him to blurt out "And you shall be called 'the Fellowship of the ring'...." |

The Saphires is pretty good, always nice to see a cheerful Australian movie. The script sometimes seems a bit clunky, but the songs are good. 7/10
The latest Batman I wasn't so impressed with. It's nothing on the first 2, and it feels about 40 minutes too long. I'd hate to see an extended directors cut version. There are some good action set pieces, and for that I'll give it an extra point to get a 6/10. |

Went and saw The Sapphires last night. Not in the same league as say Muriel's Wedding but it's still a worthy contender for a good movie. Feel good and quite moving in parts. I agree not totally seamless but the feel good aspect and great singing certainly made up for it. Jessica Mauboy is a huge vocal talent. Watch this space

What have I seen recently.
Damsels in Distress, oh wow this was hilarious. Whit Stillman's first in like 10 years is a must see with brilliant performances all round particularly Greta Gerwig who is delightful. 9/10 Beast of the Southern Wild There are few ways to describe this movie so I won't bother with must except saying, you must see this. 10/10 The Watch Unfunny, poorly acted and very cringe worthy. I remember laughing once but not sure what happened, and I saw this yesterday. 2/10 Moonrise Kingdom Yeah it's nice but once you get past the Anderson imagery and the acting there is must substance aside from a mildly humerus adventure story. 6/10 Bernie Jack Black is back. This move is hilarious and Jack is marvellous. 9/10 |

carrying on from you, i just saw Beasts of the Southern Wild and felt like i wanted to cry when it was all over. (i may have)for me, it was the epitome of a great narrative. extraordinarily touching and absorbing. The scene where myth meets reality (im not giving too much away) - i think i will remember forever. you must see this film.
