I'm not wishing to put a negative spin on this project, but does any one else think the livery for the new trams of magenta and silver comes across as weak, boring, and bland.

Now compared with this of Nottingham's tram livery, It's spot on, strong, positive, and vibrant.

I think livery is purely personal opinion. It's completely subjective.

I like it personally - much better than the red blue and yellow before.

Nice pic by the way not seen that one before of the new trams.

I personally prefer that to the NET. But then NET fits in better in it's own environment for definite.

I'm not too keen on the new livery . However , I don't think Metrogogo's image is the the actual tram we are going to get ; the front of the new tram is more streamline .

Here is an example :http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=...ture=endscreen

I never understood the pink colour of the trams... It's not a colour that is particularly synonymous with Birmingham it doesn't even match the buses or trains, just a random colour choice. Given the Metro runs through the Jewellery Quarter you might have thought they'd have gone with gold or something.

All down to personal opinion I guess, I personally prefer the Brum Trams, purely for the interior and greater space. The Notts Trams have better Horns, as opposed to Brum's wide variety of noises!

They both look modern, and are some of the best in Europe I believe.

Does Birmingham have a colour?

Jewellery quarter aside for which you could suggest gold and silver there is a large blue lighting element at night but no one colour says Birmingham to me.

Even with the city crest and two main football teams I don't know what I'd think of as the city's colour.
I actually find the city more green in the literal sense with so many parks and trees compared to the grey concrete people would label us as.

I think the pink looks great provided it's kept clean properly. It certainly beats the Smarties livery on the T69s and Manchester's yellow too in my opinion. Nottingham's livery is designed specifically to match the Incentros there already and I've always found their livery to be a little bland compared to the colours of Nottingham's buses.

I always associate Birmingham with blue mailnly and a dash of red ; two colours that could have been incorporated into the new livery.

The depot enhancement looks a far bigger undertaking than I had imagine.

Would it be foolish to imagine there will be sufficient capacity for additional trams as and when required?

I don't know the actual land limitations but I know there is a a lot of room for more development . If there was ever an expansion of the Metro there should be enouigh space for further extension of the depot.

Brum's trams shouldn't have horns, or bells. They should have Jasper Carrot shouting "Oi! Move! The Funky Tram's coming!" A GPD Transponder in each tram will detect when it has entered West Brom, and the voice will change to Frank Skinner and then to Lenny Henry when it enters Dudley.

a question that may have already been answered, but will we have to wait until this is completed before we see a second line

Almost certainly.

No legal powers exist for any other lines yet do they?
