Incident: Air France A388 near Gothenburg on July 1st, 2012; door problems

An Air France Airbus A380-800, registration F-HPJG performing flight AF-276 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Tokyo Narita (Japan), had just reached FL370 about 45nm eastnortheast of Gothenburg (Sweden) when the crew reported door problems and requested to descend to FL250.

The aircraft dumped fuel over the Baltic Sea and set course to return to Paris where the aircraft landed safely on runway 27L at about 19:49 p.m. L (17:49 p.m. Z) about 5 hours after departure.

Sweden's Civil Aviation Authority said the crew reported door problems and requested to dump fuel over the Baltic Sea.


The airline reported the aircraft returned to Paris for technical checks. The flight is estimated to depart again at 23:30 p.m. L (21:30 p.m. Z).


A replacement Airbus A380-800 registration F-HPJF departed runway 09R at 00:36 a.m. L (July 2nd, 22:36 p.m. Z July 1st) about 4:45 hours after landing and is estimated to reach Tokyo with a delay of 10 hours.

Incident: Air France B773 at Paris on July 15th, 2012, Foetus washed down the toilet

An Air France Boeing 777-300, registration F-GSQK performing flight AF-703 (dep July 14th) from Abidjan (Cote de Ivory) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), had completed a seemingly uneventful flight.
When the new crew, bound to take the aircraft onto its next flight AF-3830 to Dubai, boarded and prepared the aircraft for the flight, one of toilets was found clogged. Maintenance activity to clear the toilet then discovered a dead newborn as cause of the blockage.

Air France-KLM Pays Homage to Its Chinese Passengers

Few travel professionals might remember that Air France was the first airline out of Europe to fly to Mainland China. The year was 1966 and the Cultural Revolution was just starting in a country which -- at time -- remained mostly ignored from a large public.

Some 40 years later, Air France-KLM continues to maintain its leadership to China. The Group offers now flights to nine destinations in Greater China (China PRC, Hong Kong and Taiwan) out of Amsterdam or Paris CDG. Beside "traditional" destinations such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai, the French-Dutch carrier opened over the last years flights to secondary destinations such as Chengdu and Hangzhou (KLM, both out of Amsterdam), Xiamen (Air France from CDG) and most recently to Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province. Three times per week, Air France links the metropolis in Central China with a Boeing 777-200 ER with a capacity of 309 seats.

As the group expects to carry this year over two million passengers from and to Greater China, Air France-KLM management revamped the airline's product to better serve the needs of Chinese customers. Interpreters are systematically available on board all flights in both Mandarin and Cantonese language.

FLY OFF TO KUALA LUMPUR WITH AIR FRANCE NEXT SUMMER

Starting 22 April 2013, Air France will operate three weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. This destination will be operated by Boeing 777-200 with a total capacity of 247 seats, equipped with 4 seats in La Première, 49 seats in Business, 24 seats in Premium Economy and 170 seats in Economy.

In order to offer customers increased comfort on its routes, Air France plans to operate night flights to and from Kuala Lumpur. Ticket bookings will open on 9 November.

In Asia, Kuala Lumpur will be the 15th destination** served by Air France. This new service is in addition to the 205 weekly flights operated between Paris, Amsterdam and Asia by Air France and KLM. This flight completes the flight offering between Europe and Malaysia, with the daily flight already operated by KLM to Kuala Lumpur. Customers wishing to travel to Indonesia from Europe will also benefit from connecting opportunities to Jakarta offered by KLM.

Hop is just the new brand for "Regional", it is now based on a low cost system as Regional was in the red.
It tries to keep up with regional carriers such as Volotea or Flybe.
