There might be an obvious answer to this (I'm guessing it's something to do with light refraction) but why does glass on buildings always give wobbly reflections?
Amazing pics by the way |

Just a quick update.
Since the other thread about the re-cladding of the old Stock Exchange is now closed http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...=454552&page=4 (as per request of 28 Jul 2009), I have had to post on this thread. However, one of the glazing panels became detached earlier today, at about 15.20 (GMT+1) - there were a few bits of glass on the street and Old Broad Street (OBS) was closed for a bit - oh, and it did fall from about the 13th floor. (I was trying to count, but the police made me go back in). Thankfully, (and amazingly), the only injury sustained was a nick to the leg by a passer-by [source - building security]. Considering how busy OBS can be, we can be thankful for that! (Cue subsequent blame attribution - sorry, I meant dispute resolution - and re-re-cladding...)

oh dear. not so unusual for cladding to fall during construction, such as beetham birmingham but so long after completion, not good.

Sorry to ask, but could somebody tell me what companies now occupy this tower? Or if is it mostly empty?

DTZ have 5 floors and are the largest occupiers. Friend who works there says its a really nice office.
http://www.125oldbroadstreet.com/ has the other occupiers. It's fully let (or under offer) except for four full floors and 3 half floors. |

I noticed t'other week the glass was being messed with at the top of the old stock exchange tower.
Today the crown is lit up with blue and pink lighting. Which is a new feature. Sorry, no pics. |

So, this building is being held together with tape... thats not embarrassing is it! Hope it wont leave a load of glue all over the glass when they peel it all off.

and when the news first came out about problems with cladding, did they reach for their lawyers to try and hush reports (the joy of british libel laws)?
