मुंबई आणि पुण्यात आज आयटीचा मोठा विकास झाला आहे. नागपुरात युनिट सुरू करीत असलेल्या टीसीएस आणि इन्फोसिस या दोन्ही कंपन्यांचे तेथे युनिटस् आहेत. तेथे अप्रत्यक्ष रोज*गार प्रत्यक्ष रोजगाराच्या तिप्पट आहे. इन्फोसिसच्या पुण्याच्या युनिटमध्ये आय जवळपास १२ हजार कर्मचारी आहेत. मात्र अप्रत्यक्ष रोजगाराचा आकडा ४५ हजाराच्या घरात आहे. असेच केंद्र नागपुरात उभे केले जाईल , अशी ग्वाही कंपनीच्या सीईओंनीच दिली आहे. यामुळेच ११ हजार थेट रोजगारामार्फत येत्या २०१४ पर्यंत ४५ हजाराच्या घरात अप्रत्यक्ष नोकऱ्याही नागपूरकरांना मिळणार आहेत.

I'll among the very first people to rush back to Nagpur for good, if this happens. But the report is highly speculative.

MUMBAI: Development of special economic zones (SEZ) received a serious blow on Monday when the Maharashtra Idustrial Development Corporation (MIDC) cancelled four projects following wide-spread protests.
Nearly 8,700 hectare of agriculture land taken from the local farmers was also de-notified as a result. "The projects were facing wide-spread protest from the farmers and therefore the board decided to call it off," said a senior minister and board member.
The SEZs that have been cancelled are India Bulls project on 1,936 hectare land in Raigad, the projects was proposed in 2008. The SEZs of Mahindra & Mahindra on a 3,000 hct land in Karla, Videocon's SEZs in Aurangabad and Pune on a total of 3,763 hct of land, have all been cancelled.
The SEZs have not really taken off in Maharashtra and according to an estimate only 18 of the 104 approved projects are currently operational. Out of 143 approved proposals, 27 have submitted applications for withdrawal because of unfavorable economic conditions on offer in Maharashtra.

I think now that 4 SEZs have been closed...People will come to remaining SEZs in State ( whoever wants Maharashtra as a place to invest)..and Mihan is one SEZ whcih still has place to accomodate...its my take from this news...

In my knowledge, Infosys haven't purchased the land yet, they just signed MoU.

I have also read somewhere that Infosys has been alloted land near CFB. Just wanted to figure out where exactly it is. We can then follow its progress and it can be helpful for those who are doing great job of providing updates by visiting MIHAN and making us visit virtually by uploading pics.

I think land has already been allotted to infosys. It is opposite Caliber Point, just next to CFB, on the other side of the road leading to Caliber Point. Can't mark it on map right away as I don't have my pc now.
But since doubts are raised here I am also not completely sure if the allotment is already done.

This is an existing building of Infosys in Bangalore, why would they copy the same building for MIHAN.
Let's just admit it - Infosys has just taken land and since then there has been no visible progress, so plan master plan is not yet ready. It would be good if we assumed that unless something comes in the public information.

Thanks. I think you are right. This area comes out to be 74+67.80=141.80 Acre. But 74 acre was reserved for Health City. I think there are no takers for health city.

I am coming to Nagpur after 3 years, so I actually don't know whats d current situation of mihan.... I want to see the current progress of companies constructions. So can anyone tell me whether roads inside mihan are fully opened or not, are the 4-wheelers allowed inside or I have to go there by a 2-wheeler.

Roads are the only things that are actually there :-P
Nice 4 lane roads, so yes you can take your 4-wheeler.

Last week i spoke with sanjay yeole LNT inforpark person as per them all approvals will be cleared before Diwali after they will also start the work in Mihan and it is really g8 news...................

so its sort of a "Tareek pe Tareek"....also are the approvals pending within L&T or from MADC?
