Navy enna Software park ah katta mudiyum. It is they who ensure the safety of the nation. Do they provide safety based on no of people enrolling from each states? You don't do business with the armed forces.

What the state govt could do in this regard is propose to acquire land around Sulur airbase for naval air operations in exchange for land near peelamedu. Ofcourse the defence services must accept. Still this is a feasible one.

Coimbatore's International traffic growing

Quote:
...In contrast, Tier II cities like Guwahati, Cochin, Coimbatore and Lucknow lead the growth, according to data released by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) for the period of April-May, 2012.

A total of 6.90 million international passengers were recorded during the same period. AAI owns most of the major airports in India, except for a few which are in joint ventures with private players.

The AAI attributed the increase in international passengers at Tier II cities to increase in the frequency of existing services by airlines and the start of the operations by new airlines.

Guwahati, the capital of Assam, which is considered to be the largest metropolitan area among the north-eastern states, saw the highest growth, with an increase of 19.8%, followed by Coimbatore with 13.9%, Cochin with 13.5% and Lucknow with 11.3% growth...

...The experts claim that Tier II cities are slowly but gradually seeing an increase in the air traffic as more and more airlines are starting services from there, giving a boost to the region. However, the slow growth reported at three of the metro airports in no way indicates that more international passengers are moving to Tier II city airports...

It is a pleasure to see flights flying above the place where I stay in Coimbatore

One of the busiest airports of TN shining with only domestic and very small number of Internationals, I hope the International flights movement go above in the days to come.

Gilli, SG indeed was operating two boeing flights to HYD(onward to DEL) but they had cancelled morning flight effective 19th July'12 which will be resumed from 2nd Aug'12 . Looks like they have changed the aircraft from Boeing to Q400 with revised timings from 2nd Aug'12. This is applicable for S12 only.

SG3312 CJB 0750 – 0910 HYD
SG3319 CJB 2035 – 2205 HYD

SG3311 HYD 0555 – 0730 CJB
SG3318 HYD 1850 – 2015 CJB

Are they planning for non-stop delhi flight?

Thats a great news of Spicejet connecting Coimbatore with SIN and DXB...they still have to tap the potential of CJB...I believe both Indigo and Spicejet should study TN airports and start feasible International routes..which AirIndia fails...but the main Roadblock for our airports is the getting permission for International routes..Does Indigo has any plans of international routes from TN airports?

It had been collected through RTI that Indigo has applied for TRZ-SIN and KUL routes, hope they consider other airports too.

yes.

1. Are you being compensated appropriately by the government?
2. Has everybody being affected by the land acquisition accepted to the acquisition?
3. Is the acquisition process been streamlined or getting delayed and red tape problems etc?
4. Most importantly, are people planning o protest against this move?

Thanks in advance.

land acquisition

1. Reg compensation, only objections are heard from us. Even our expectation's are not asked even though many have given theirs. Land subdivision detail updating is under process now. A district level committee will be formed first [when & who?] to suggest or calculate or forward the compensation figure to state level committee {again when & who?} which will carry to CM where finalised and award will be passed after that people evict or vacate.

land acquisition

2. Out of 5 to 6 village's affected [named as village's for revenue record like even heart of the city is named village they are not village's in fact densely populated posh house's huge industries well irrigated and cultivated land's etc.,] one village or area lot of leased land of AAI is there they are only willing {i hope so} that too they expect market value. Otherwise Many object.

land acquisition

3. Compensation? is the only problem.

4. Yes people are planning to protest against this move. Not against the expansion. Many are expecting a very good compensation from the government. Only after the compensation is announced the real feeling's of the people can be felt.

for ex., my land is a 30 year hard worked developed by my family and friend's apart from monetary investment. where many factories which gives job for many worker's who reside nearby whose house's also are acquired. The very next day of vacation what are we all going to do?

Why should we give our land for a throw away price. We are asking for a reasonable compensation if this basic right is denied then what for we have got independence. After all the land is acquired for a COMPANY which earns the money spent within a few years.

I have much more, i don't want to take much of your space.

Thanks for responding.
