Church of St. Basil of Ostrog | Belgrade, Serbia
Church of St. Basil of Ostrog is located in Bezanijska hair, in the municipality of New Belgrade.
It was the first church built on the territory of New Belgrade after the Second World War. The construction started in the 1996th and the church was consecrated in 2001. year. Relying on Christian tradition and the great accomplishments of the old Serbian builders, architects Mihajlo Mitrovic has chosen shape of ancient Christian rotunda, accompanied with lower annexes and high bell tower in the west and three-leafed altar apse to the east. Holy Temple. Basil of Ostrog is a composition, a solid and artistically homogenous whole, achieved by modern construction procedure. Was built using donations of followers of St. Basil of Ostrog, the Wonderworker. The official site of the church of St. Basil of Ostrog in Belgrade Church of St. Basil of Ostrog on Bezanija ("Orthodoxy", No. 992, July 15, 2008). My words I would say this: LEPE rare example of sacral architecture in Serbia, which present some NAM NEW (OLD) FORMS FROM OUR ancient past and introduces us to THE TIME THAT SOMEONE has long PROHUJALO next to us.
