Yey I love it when the longshots begin to emerge, you really know the building is significantly vertical at that point. A very pleasent feeling!

It's strange, when you view the skyline from an unusual angle you see things you've never seen before.
Such as two sets of four turrets, one to the left of the Gherkin and the other to the right of the Cheese Grater!

Thx - I would have to agree it only takes a large bolt to drop and bounce onto someone to cause some real damage. On a sunny day there's a-lot of people in that square and I've been surprised that there's no safety netting up. Maybe it's going to be put up when they've finished the service lifts?

If health and safety were the olympics , "protection of the public " would be in the medal positions !!

Exciting isn't it and it's great to 122 Leadenhall finally creeping into the skyline.

I wonder if there are any photos kicking about of the same view from, say, fifteen years ago. So much has changed since then.

Well this must be about 2002

.....and the city in 1985 from a different view
Edit:I took this pic from are reputable site claiming this is 1985. It cannot be! I can see a completed 1 Canada Sq in the distance (1991) Also, notice the Aviva tower in the city is a windowless wreck - IRA city bomb of 1993

I have a shot taken from St Pauls in 1974. I must try to scan it in and post it.

Wish they didn't 'debrutalise' the stock exchange tower. Bad move.
