Thanks! Vicksburg is coming soon. And there are scores of other undiscovered and lovely towns in this state.

Amazing photos. My best friend is from Biloxi and you are right, people from Mississippi are so friendly and kind. It's true what they say about southern hospitality. I had actually thought of planning a trip to Tupelo via Memphis earlier in the year. There's nothing like a good ol' southern meal. They make the best fried chicken and the best hot sauce in the whole world.

Thanks! You may be underwhelmed with Tupelo, there's the birthplace of Elvis and a nice mall but besides that there's not much. I would recommend stopping and spending time in Oxford, it's gorgeous! It's also somewhat on the way between Memphis and Tupelo.

I don't remember too much about Greenville. It was a nice little town with a floating casino. I think it's a nice town to drive thru but I wouldn't want to move back there haha.

I bought a Garmin GPS in the Walmart in Clarksdale when I was on my way from Memphis to Vicksburg. Impeccable service.

So you drove down the Delta? What did you think of the region? And don't judge MS by the road conditions, I know they are terrible.

Actually I don't remember them being so bad. I thought the roads in California were much worse.

You may have been a good highway then, when I enter Mississippi from Tennessee the road goes from smooth and shouldered to worn, potholed, and shoulderless. Mississippi has little to no funding for its roads so they have fallen into disrepair for the most part. But on the national highways and interstates they are okay.

My newly bought GPS did not recognise a bridge over the river M toward Arkansas. It went confused when I wanted to cross the river. So I guess at least that part was new.

That's odd, I think your GPS goofed. There's only two bridge that cross into Arkansas from Mississippi. One's at Greenville, MS and the other's at Helena, AR and both are very old. We once had a GPS take us to a cement wall in Katy, TX.

Hmmm, the bridge actually looked very new. I wish I remembered where I crossed the river.

Edit: yes, it was in Greenville. There was an old looking bridge next to the new one. The GPS suggested very strongly we take the old bridge.

My bad,

I forgot they had built a new bridge near Greenville It's been a while since I've been in that area.

It's very nice too from what I've seen in pictures. I like those type of bridges.
