Good to see the developments and projects of satellite towns of Kollam city. It would be great if the upcoming comercial dvelopments/projects of Chavara, Kundara, and Kottiyam are highlighted as these towns are almost contigous with Kollam city.

Kerala government to launch job portal

First of a kind in india.

Thiruvananthapuram: With more than four million educated unemployed in the state, Kerala is launching what is perhaps the country's first government-run job portal.

The portal will feature jobs in Kerala and outside the state in both the private and the public sectors. The website would be officially launched on Wednesday.

The brain child of engineer-turned Labour Minister Shibhu Baby John, the site would be managed by the state-owned Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (Keltron) and would be run by the Overseas Development and Employment Promotion Consultants (ODEPC), a department under Mr John's labour ministry.

"This is the first time that a state government is taking the lead to run a job portal and all those who wish to register can do so with a token fees. The website www.odepc.kerala.gov.in will feature jobs in both the private and public sector in the country besides numerous overseas employment vacancies," said John.

The registration fee for uploading a resume ranges from Rs.70 to Rs.600 depending on the qualification of the job aspirant.

Using a user id, everyone who registers can make changes to their bio-data as and when they wish to do, besides search and apply for the jobs that are listed.

"We are in talks with numerous private and public sector companies and also reputed companies abroad including government hospitals and departments, who have agreed to cooperate with us when it comes to recruitment by them," said Mr John.

"Once we pass on the bio-data to the companies, intimation would be send to the job aspirants, detailing of what has happened to their bio-data," said Mr John.

Dil, any latest information on this project especially the location details. The website shows the news posted on october 3rd 2011...which means after the Raviz inaugration. That means it is a brand new project...but no news offlate.

Beyond Squarefeet to manage K Mall in Kollam Kerala

On January - 13 - 2012

Malabar Group has tied with Beyond Squarefeet, a mall management company to set up K Mall in Kollam, Kerala. The group’s first mall aims to cater to over 2.6 mn consumers. Beyond Squarefeet would do the mall management consultancy, re–orient, market and lease the mall. The company aims to create a mix of national and regional retailers for shopping and turn the Mall into an ‘Eater–tainment’ hub with emphasis on Food and Beverages, Family Entertainment Centres and Miniplex.

K Mall would include three screen multiplex on two levels, fifteen kitchens food court, double decker family entertainment centre and ample car parking facility for the consumers. K Mall is partially operational with brands such as Reliance Trends, Malabar Gold, Reliance Footprint, Bata, Lee, Ray Ban, Navigator, Male Republic, Linen by Burgoyne and others.
