Now I have completed the Shard diagram time-lapse up to the present day, so I can now go and modify the ones I'm still working on, and I just completed the Leadenhall Building work tthis morning!

Stunning shot, love the density of the trees as well as the density of the buildings. Those tower blocks do tarnish the view a great deal mind, but I see they're doing some work to them? Does anyone know what is going on with them? Are they being reclad or is it something not worth getting excited about?

those towers are a long side the DLR where it forks to go in to Bank or Tower.
They seem to be part of a social housing estate that is currently under renovation - there have been several new buildings completed on the estate about 10 floorsish - but I'm not sure what is happening to those older buildings. Keep things in to perspective though - the view from Canary Wharf to the City crosses one of the poorest areas of Europe and there are only 4 or 5 blocks like these, all cities in every country in the world would have similar if not considerably more. |

Really coming together - still fairly busy on site today (even with the marathon happening a few feet away).

I wonder if the building will grow faster as time goes on (given its shape)?

Density would be an issue with opaque/non-reflective high rise structures; but these are glass structures, with considerable ground-level pedestrian access no less.
It should be far more pleasant (to the claustrophobically inclined) than the denser areas in Manhattan. |
