BMX Men's seeding underway. So far, all riders that went after Daniel Caluag ride faster than him.

I think despite being the slowest rider, he still qualifies for tomorrow's run. He's not actually dead last among the riders, one rider crashed and did not finish. I think he'll be matched up with those with the fastest times .

BMX Rider Daniel Caluag finished 31st out of 32 riders.

Filipino-American rider Daniel Caluag got off to a bad start in his London 2012 campaign, finishing last in the seeding run of the BMX competition Wednesday.

Caluag went first and finished with a time of 40.9 seconds, 3.121 off the first place time of Dutch rider Raymon van der Biezen. That time was good for 31st place. The 32nd competitor, Latvian Edzus Treimanis, did not finish the race.

The last Filipino representative in London, however, still has a chance to bounce back on Thursday, when the quarterfinals of the BMX competition gets underway. No cyclist has been eliminated from contention so far.

Caluag, the only Asian to qualify for the London Games, had strong showings leading into the Olympics, including a quarterfinal finish in the UCI BMX World Championships in Birmingham, England that clinched a seat in London.

I think we can't just blame the POC. Sports by large is not that incorporated in academics as it is in other countries. Dapat sa school umpisahan yan. Better intensives and more competition esp outside of the country para magauge natin ang mga ginagawa ng mga taga-ibang bansa. Exposure, exposure, exposure. Rehabilitate PE curriculum. Baka puedeng gawing elective ang PE, kung gusto nyo magTennis, Volleyball, Football, etc...

Also, maybe we could pay for foreign trainers na nagtretrain ng different nationalities?

In which, usually their careers are short lived

Baka mas may chance pa tayo kung magnanaturalize tayo like that Chinese lady and that Smart Gilas guy..forgot their names

O kaya magoutsource ng tisoy at tisay

We shouldn't be complaining about tisoy and tisays and naturalized players dominating our sports. Not many natives are interested in sports by large. Baka puede maghanap hanap sa mga international schools sa Pilipinas. Puede magstart dun.

Usually, bandwagon sports fans. Kung ano ang uso, doon susunod. Noon billiards ang pinapanood ngayon boxing..dahil "uso"... hayz...

nauso din naman ang badminton, a sport best suited for the pinoys' built. bandwagoners jumped in, courts have sprouted. gears and rackets dropped their prices, local and international tournaments got organized. the sport has become cool and it has become masa! But 10 years after it became "The" national past-time, it went down to obscurity once again. I wonder what happened.

Because by large, Filipinos interest in sports is superficial. It is not nurtured where it should be -- schools. The PE curriculum is so-so that students mostly see it as a burden and waste of time. Filipinos rave what is fed to them by the media.

On the other hand, we should also have a real free sports channel or program in Filipino to cater to the "masa".

the NBC commentators were all praises during the first 2 and 3/4 sets of the US match vs the Russians. They said the Americans were built for the gold and were clearly the superior team amongst all the participants. Then the Russians saved the match-point and proceeded to win the last 3 sets ending the match. I think that lost unraveled the Americans and made them doubt, entering the medal rounds. And now, Italy eliminated them. Those NBC talking-heads are all full of shit.

bwahahahaha..

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh have won their third consecutive Olympic gold medal, beating fellow Americans Jennifer Kessy and April Ross 21-16, 21-16.

May-Treanor and Walsh, who came out of retirement for these Olympics, only dropped one set in the entire tournament.

Kessy and Ross seemed to be making a run, but Ross missed a serve long at 14-15 that stopped her pair’s momentum. A final serve by Ross sailed long to end the match, sending May-Treanor to her knees in celebration.
