I would say at least 40% of adults drink in cities.

The biggest problem with Iranian people is that they don't know just how great their country can be.

Unfortunately in Iran because of the refusal for a long time by the governmetn to recognize the issue of alcoholism, we have many alcoholics in Iran. So many accidents are caused by idiots who drink and drive and no one has a clue.
Idiot government and idiot people who don't know how to handle the alcohol issue (either too much or ban completely.)

thats the result of banning, if it was free, in general , people wouldnt go inversely extreme on it, it would be taught on to younger generations and used as an occasional cultural delight,it wouldnt be so "special" in a negative way, now its used like water because people have forgotten how to use it (not all but a descent amount) and arent educated properly on it

look at old photos, everyone has a small wine glass with a bit of red wine in the bottom sipping it away gently, look at now, people fill mugs with vodka at parties and drink like it like it like there is no tomorrow

this isnt the only thing, even a concept of dress and make up, in the 50s 60s 70s, people would dress modestly , some make up to add a finished look, simple and nice, classy, now people look so artificial (its coming back to normal and for many it has) but a descent group of iranians still go extreme

Day after day Iran positively amazes me!

But how to eat in such a fancy italian restaurant without drink some good wine? It's more than alcohol beverage, there is all the haute cuisine ritual. :p

we will never know how many people sit and drink aragh sagi from a boshke in their mechanic shops or how many vodka bottles are sold etc
or how many ppl make it in their homes

these things get shipped to iran on massive scales though
lets end this conversation or move it to the random section

There are many restaurants and bars and hotels. You can find them easily when you will travel there. You can find them on the net also and you can find bars also.
