The sports architecture firm, which won a contract two years ago to design a $500 million sports complex for the southern port city of Basra, Iraq, will be teaming with Anwar Soura General Contracting Company on the additional projects. Both soccer stadiums will have a capacity for 30,000 spectators. One is planned for Najaf, a city about 100 miles north of Baghdad; the other is planned for Al-Menaa, a suburb of Basra. The Najaf stadium will cost about $83.75 million, the Al-Menaa facility, $86 million. The firm announced its selection by the Iraq Ministry of Youth today. “We are excited an honored to serve the needs of the ministry and partner with one of Iraq’s leading builders in Anwar Soura,” George Heinlein, a 360 senior principal, said in a statement. ![]() ![]() ![]()

It's a shame about the running track from a football point of view but that looks fantastic.
Good to see they're committed to developing good facilities, gives a positive outlook for those (like myself) that don't particularly have a clue what Iraq is like nowadays. |
