1. Observatory towers or Tv towers 2. the ugliest subway system 3. the best airport terminal 4. the most dangerous road, viaduct or highway

^ that's not a bad idea. The Pepsi sign over a Queens facing Manhattan is another one.
 Phillies Love sign off course  Montevideo in Rotterdam has a large letter M on top  The Welcome to Las Vegas sign  Santa Fe Sign, Chicago (threatened sign!) Other examples welcome

Hi Jan! I've just seen that currect one-on-one is about London and its icons. How about the same for Madrid in next days? For me is unclear what is the most important icon in Spain's capital city because it has several candidates: Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Puerta de Alcalá, Cibeles, Prado Museum, el Retiro, Metropoli building, CTBA, Kio Towers, Atocha.... I'll be pleased if you could consider this idea.
