In the center Lelica, villages near Valjevo, the church was built in the 1929th , and declared the monastery in 1997. It contains the relics of Bishop Nikolaj.

Nikolaj Velimirovic (January 5, 1880 - March 18, 1956) was a prominent theologian and bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Born in Lelić in farming, and pious family. His education began in a monastery Cells and a PhD in 28th age, in Bern.

Much time is spent in America, England and other European cities, but harbored a great love of Russia, where he stayed for a long time, traveling and learning about her religious life, the soul of a Russian man and his sanctuary.

Bishop Nikolai died in the Russian church of Saint Tikhon of South Canaan, in America. From the Monastery of St. Tikhon was transferred then to the monastery of Saint Sava in Libertyville, and was buried near the altar of the church in the presence of a large number of Orthodox Serbs and other believers across America.

Many years after his death his remains were transferred from Libertyville to Lelić and 12th May, 1991. year. He was buried in a small church in Lelić, which is its foundation.

At the spring meetings of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church in May 2003. was named for saints. Solemn canonization was performed in the Temple of Saint Sava, in Belgrade, 24 May 2003.
