Total and utter nonsense. You insult the profession also since the majority of buildings being designed are relatively simple in terms of geometry. Few architects get to design a building with a complex Flashy design and most buildings are variations on a box.

Architecture is far more than drawing pretty pictures. Anyone can draw a box, but to design all the details of a complex building is no walk in the park, don't be fooled.

I'm completely aware that there is more to a building than the exterior. I'm just saying that this is New York City. Sure, simple can be good, but this is a box with windows for God's sake!

Take the Empire State Building. It is fairly simple, yet iconic and beautiful. That is because it has the figure that makes it reach into the sky. But back to the present.

I understand that this particular 'box' can hold some incredible things inside and have state of the art features, but exterior appeal is the second most important feature of a building. Only safety comes first. When I look at this building I don't see a simple work that captures your mind, I see a building that goes up, and then stops.

I don't mean to attack you personally or anyone else for that matter, but my belief is that a building has to look like it belongs in the city where it is built. This one just doesn't.

The supermarket won't be there for long. A lot of work is progressing at 140 W 57th, the site to which it's relocating.
