That is one usual view, but still captured from a nice perspective:
images hosted on flickr ![]() Kungliga Tullhuset, Stockholm by s_p_o_c The building on the front is a Art Nouveau styled building dating from 1906. It used for customs control of goods, and is listed as a building of cultural interest. The original brick facade of this beautiful building is intact, while the interiors have been renovated to house among other things, Fotografiska, which is a private Swedish picture museum. In addition to the exhibition spaces, Fotografiska, houses an academy, bistro, cafe, bar, conference rooms, museum shop, gallery, and event spaces. |

Oh please, most of it is fine and dandy. Norde Centrum just kills it.

After going though almost all pages of this thread I must say that Tallinn and Vilnius has the most impressive skylines in N&B. Riga has alot of highrises, but they are spread through many neighbourhoods, but if they were built all in one place, then it might look very good (Skanste already looks nice). Im suprised about the Scandinavian cities, which lack some modern highrises, especially Stockholm.

It's a lot more difficult to build just about anything in Nordic cities compared to the Baltics*, so in the end the lack of high-rise buildings is not very surprising.
*Not necessarily a bad thing. |
