Hi everyone, can you recommend me the best way to go from Risan (Montenegro) to Zagreb not using A1 motorway in Croatia?

1. Coastal road D8 to Split, then D1 via Knin to Karlovac and from there to Zagreb. 2. New road to Niksic, then via M18 to Foca (BiH) - attention, bad road right after the border for about 10 to 15 km - M18 further to Sarajevo, via A1 and M5 to Travnik and Jajce then M16 to Banja Luka and to the border at Gradiska. And then to Zagren 3. New road to Niksic, then via M18 to Foca (BiH) - attention, bad road right after the border for about 10 to 15 km - M18 further to Sarajevo, via A1 and M5 to Travnik, Jajce and Bihac to the border. Then on Croatian D1 to Karlovac and from there to Zagreb. |

It's an option, but the road is very busy - that's the cause why A1 is built
On M5 starting from Travnik there is in fact nearly zero traffic. So it depends on the time: If you drive in the night or on weekend without trucks, than it's ok. If not, then I would prefer 2. or 3.

New road sign. Opening of the 9,6km-long section Kakanj - Bilješevo is now a matter of days...
