Option to show/hide pictures?

Why doesn't SSC use the option to only show pictures, if you want to see them? It's annoying that you have to wait for all those pics you've already seen to load. Instead you'd only click a button to see pics in an unread post (if you wish).

Some forum engines allow for the configuration of a button that will hide or display images. However, that is often the case with forums that allow in-line attachment of images (e.g., pasting an image in a post, not a hotlink for it), which SSC administrators for reasonable reasons don't allow/want to (copyright, massive bandwidth etc).

I've been on other forums where they have a /spoiler tag which expands/contracts when clicked, etc... I'm sure I've suggested it before but to no avail. I also wish there was something that could be done with regard to hiding YouTube videos (not sure if a spoiler tag would work) but I'm sick of opening threads and my browser becoming non-responsive (or worse, like today, my computer needed to be restarted).

^ Yeah, videos are even more annoying, especially when there're more than 20 on a page.

When I don't want pictures to load I just stop downloading the whole page in the browser.

Yeah, but then you don't see potential new pics either.
