So there would be a Main thread titled "Mississauga" and then sub-threads such as (for example): "Parkside Village", "Waterfront Developments", "Skyline Photos", etc. etc. ??? I mean we should have it just like Toronto.. one main thread with all the rest inside, instead of all these developments cramped into one thread. For example: SkyscraperCity > Continental Forums > North American Skyscrapers Forum > Canada > Ontario > Mississauga > Skyline Photos If Hamilton and Niagara-St.Catherines both have a Main thread with numerous sub threads, why shouldnt we? We have waaaay more developments going on than both combined, and this is shown through our 700k+ population... i'm down for it, anyone else agree with me? |

Try that with the people who live at 5-and-10!
![]() And by the way, I'm not sure if splitting the thread here would be a good idea. The suburban threads don't get as much traffic as the Toronto ones so the main benefit of filtering out posts you're not interested in isn't as important here. Though it'd be great to have a unified list of proposed/underway projects. Last edited by bielawski; August 16th, 2012 at 08:16 PM. Reason: Wording |

I see your point (about the filtering posts), but I think It's a big enough city with a good enough amount of developments to have a new mega thread. The city is only getting bigger and bigger, so we might as well start now, we will eventually have to open one anyway. Even I could start the thread, but I dont know how to start one with sub-threads in it. If I started it, It would be in the "Ontario" section, same as this current thread. I was thinking of a thread that opens various others, i just dont know how exactly to do that (or if it requires a mod or whatnot).. I agree that because the topics/discussions are in separate threads, discussion become more spaced out between various threads.. but not for long.. you could easily put out many threads such as "Proposed Projects", "PC developments", "MCC devlopments", "waterfront", "MiWay/Transit Issues", "Mississauga LRT development", "Mississauga Steelheads thread", and many other threads that actually have discussion and heated arguments (as forums do) about, say, "Would you say Mississauga is a suburb or city?" etc.etc. ..or "Best mississauga buildings", even "future skyline renders".. Making a new mega thread will only promote more discussion from other users, especially since there is alot from toronto, and they will most likely see that we have expanded and even comment on it, talk about it, etc. Speaking of which, you said: "The suburban threads don't get as much traffic as the Toronto ones.." Like I said I agree, but It doesnt take a global city to have its own mega thread. We probably dont need as much traffic in the toronto threads, because toronto is a giant worldwide city, and comparing it to the suburbs is one thing, but mississauga isnt the typical "Bedroom community" you think of when someone says "suburb". Yes, most of it is suburban in nature, but the Downtown21 MasterPlan is here to change all that (there's another thread that could open under mississauga "Dwntwn21 Plan").. The city really has alot of things going for it, and I think that if detroit, which is smaller that Sauga, can have a couple threads, why can't we. I think it's defiantly plausible and I think it's do-able !!

A Mississauga forum section could work I think, would be a big undertaking to get all the various project threads started etc but its something that many could contribute to. It would be nice to be able to easily go back and view a project as it develops over time in its own thread. I support the idea, and would like to hear more people's thoughts on this too! |

when I first suggested this idea, I actually just had a "Mississauga Proposals" thread in mind...not necessarily something as extensive or complicated. Just thought it might be nice to have one location for proposals or visions that is separate from what's already under construction.
I can say this, I'm frequent this site regularly and I see far more discussion about Mississauga than almost any other city. That said, I think it warrants discussion or further threads, one in which renders of the LRT, Masterplan downtown, other proposed buildings can all be showcased.

I wrote this long-ass reply and I was almost done and my PC got a blue screen
![]() Anyway, what I basically wrote is this: 1) I knew you suggested only a small proposed skyscrapers thread, but since this thread has over 500k views and 4500 replies, (and this is the 3rd thread for mississauga- the others were cut since they were too long too), then mississauga is waay ahead of the other city threads in the Ontario section. We can easily fill a couple mississauga threads. 2) I will look for some threads that might help us in knowing how to open a Sub-Ontatio thread (with multiple other mississauga threads in it) . if i cant find one, ill just open a new one and ask in the Forum Help section how to make one. Cause i have no clue if you need a mod or an admin or anything on that. I will finish here before my comp shuts down again PS who else thinks this is a good idea.. how about JasonZed? it'd be cool to see whats your take on this

Hey guys, you are doing great work!!
I think I understand what you are suggesting, but basically that would mean giving Mississauga its own sub-forum, which would not be possible at this time. When cities in the Province other than Toronto are all grouped together like this, it makes it simple for new members to access all the information they need in a clear fashion. It is following the same pattern for various other Canadian cities in the regional forums. I realize the thread is large, but those who follow it and participate in it know what is going on, and all the information is easily retrievable in one thread for anyone new visiting the forum. Again, thanks for all the great input, and keep up the great work! Cheers!

Thanks for the quick reply, taller better.
I got your pm, thanks for that too, ill just reply here.. Anyway yeah it kinda sucks, but I guess if Montreal doesnt even have one it's understandable. Disappointing,(I was so excited for it), but, you know, what can you do.. So thanks again, and one more thing... Is it at least okay to make that "Proposed Mississauga Skyscrapers" thread in the Ontario section? Like in'Sauga suggested.. you know, at least we can have that, right?

Sure! That is what the Ontario forum is for. It is great to see this kind of enthusiasm, so go for it!

I'm in the middle on this...I like how the Toronto thread is split-up but I prefer the one-stop-shopping thread up to a certain point. I think having a proposed Mississauga development thread is an excellent idea.

This is in Lakeview along the Lakeshore. Development is slowly moving westward one property at a time. Next on the list is the abandoned Sheridan car dealership which is being used as a movie/TV set per below. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sheridan car dealership ![]() ![]() ![]() from yesterday
