it's not possible, the stands are too close to the pitch to fit a track in there

It could probably fit a track, however, they'd need to do something similar to what they're doing with Hampden Park for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

well that is what you think, to most Brazilians it is the most historical and footballistic stadium in the country for everything it represents do the Nation in terms of soccer.

this is olympic games which involve all Continent from all the world? its not a national games..and this is not even original maracana stadium,most of it already demolish and replacing with new structure but a all same design, ...wat a waste..
