Because as apposed to some islamic countries in the Middle East we don't hate islam or muslim people and we don't want to wipe all the muslims in the world.
So there are some normal countries with rational people who willing to have good diplomatic relationship with us. We reach out our hand for peace with anyone who wants peace with us, no matter if they are muslims, christians or whatever.

p.s. Must add that Besa has nothing to do with religion, Albanians don't really affiliate with any kind of religion, Besa is part of Albanian culture..the same thing Albanians did with Jews , they did with Italian soldiers protecting them against nazis after their coalition was broken, and so the Italian soldiers who came in Albania to conquest the country , were taken into people's houses to hide them from Germans

Hi everyone
I'd like to share with you my grandfather's home which to my amazement is posted on the Yad Vashem museum website.

My father was raised in this home. It was completed sometime around 1942, during the war period. My grandfather, as the photo description explains, shelter 5 jewish families here. He worked in the oil industry at the time and was well-off economically. When the communists took over the country in 1945, the building was confiscated and was turned into a court house.
5 decades later my family was able to get it back through legal documentations. The house still stands till this day.

I have always known the story of my grandfather sheltering a few jewish families during the war. I didn't know it was that many though. I was totally stunned to find this photo on the Yad Vashem website. The photographer who took the photo, Moshe Mendil, photographed my entire family and they have saved all those photos till this day. I asked my younger brother about it early this morning and he knew the name of the photographer before even looking at the photo. Insane.
At the time, my grandfather had 6 kids. So you can imagine what it must've taken for him to feed his own extended family plus 5 other families. And back then Albania was at a time of war and food rations were low.
The house is in poor condition today. It needs a major makeover. My own family owns two rooms up on the second floor. I used to hang out in front of this building as a kid while it was still a court house. All my uncles and their families lived in the land behind the building which was also owned by my grandfather. Only my father lived elsewhere. He was transferred out of town with my mom in some eastern town. They moved back to the city in the early 80's and built a house about 1 km south of this one.
