In the tender documents, only four lines were mentioned.
-Eastern Region Line -East West Line -Changi Line -And this mysterious "Existing Line" I doubt they would extend the NSL or CCL to ERL. Practically don't make sense. |

![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us I feel like Steve Jobs in the Humancentipad Episode in South Park right now. If this is SgForums or HWZ I would have been hurling sarcastic remarks. Last edited by y2koh; August 21st, 2012 at 02:16 AM. |

thanks y2koh for compiling the irrefutable proof that the line to be extended is DTL.
as for concerns related to Laguna National Golf Course, EWL can enter the new depot via its existing feeds around Upper Changi Road East. DTL and ERL can remain under the surface until it hits the land west of Sungei Ketapang. the whole depot will be rebuilt so I dont think its a concern of the depot infringing into Laguna land. acquisition of strips of land around the border, if really necessary, is not exactly unprecedented in MRT development even in recent years so I again do not understand what is the concern. finally the NEWater plant is already decommissioned as confirmed by AzMean and the pipe can most definitely be safely removed. |

Can't wait for the official stations to be confirmed by LTA & though it might be a long wait, no worries as this thread 'rocks!' ;>}

The "existing line", based on some additional information as well as some educated guesses, is most likely the Downtown Line. There are only two lines in Singapore that are three-car right now, the Circle Line and the upcoming Downtown Line, and only the latter ends anywhere near the Changi area where a future depot for it will be set up on where the existing Changi Depot is right now.

Just wondering, why is LTA so secretive about DTL?

at time of print, DTL isn't existing and probably wont be when ERL starts construction.

My best guess is that it's not that LTA wants to be secretive about it, but they simply did not want to put a name to it yet. Downtown Line after all has not open, and it can always have a name change any time before it opens.

I think there was an article on ST a few days ago saying that Laguna country club will get to keep its golf course ONLY if it builds a hotel (I'm not sure within premises or not) or it'll lose the land around the time ERL enters commercial service.

Those angmoh terminal names hardly gives the general populace any area where the line is terminating..
