Malindi is too plain in this front.

It deserves at least a mall like this...

Supermarket chain Nakumatt Holdings, has announced opening of of the Nakumatt Malindi branch today inching closer to attaining its 40-branch network. As part of Nakumatt’s expansion strategy, the firm has opened the doors to its KES 300 Million Supermarket store, featuring a variety of energy saving fittings and solutions.

The energy saving solutions installed and running at Nakumatt Malindi arguably transforms the new store into one of the most energy efficient retail outlets in Kenya with upto 25% energy cost savings.

Covering a shop floor area of more than 40,000Square Feet, the new Nakumatt store in the tourist resort town of Malindi is part of a pilot project to explore the viability of various energy saving solutions such as Freezers, Chillers, Air Dispersion Units and Lighting systems which are some of the notable high energy consuming elements in the retail sector.

Speaking in Malindi during an event to mark the formal opening of the retailer’s 38th Branch, Nakumatt Holdings Managing Director Mr. Atul Shah confirmed that plans to open other stores in Thika Town and along Thika Road are now at an advanced stage.

The opening of Nakumatt Malindi which is the fifth Nakumatt Branch within the Coast Region has set the retailer on course to meet its earlier announced plans to open its fortieth branch before the close of its financial year ending in February 2013.

“Life begins at forty and for Nakumatt this saying also rings true as we are only two branches short of the magical number which we hope to attain by early February next year,” Shah explained. “The opening of Nakumatt Malindi is a Christmas Gift for Malindi residents and also a confirmation of our corporate commitment to maintain superior environmental conservation demands through the utilization of cutting edge energy saving solutions.” He added.

Nakumatt Malindi is also stocked with more than 40,000 store keeping units (SKU’s) to choose from ranging from Fresh Produce, to Lifestyle products such as electronics, clothing, toys, branded foods and general products. ALL UNDER ONE ROOF, they say.

I am not sure if it's civil nor a good thing to make fun of someone's name. Respect and tolerance will take you far, a good deal far!
