Antwerp looks absolutely beautiful; and the cathedral is, simply, stunning and unique.

True...Belgian drivers made me sweat even more though. Are there any rules on Belgian roads?

Great quality images, and I love the border you use to frame your pictures. What program/software do you use to achieve that? ( I'm not sure if i've asked you that before?)

I bought Photoshop Elements a couple of weeks ago. Just easier to work with than Ulead Photoimpact which kept crashing on me when trying to correct lens distortion.

Yeah, people don't really know enough about the country. Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Brussels, Tournai, Leuven, Mechelen, even Liege are all worth a visit.

I don't know if I'd call myself great...yet.

But yeah, I enjoyed Antwerp. It combines great architecture with a big city feel, unlike a smaller place like Bruges for example. Again though...driving...you Belgians need to learn some lessons from your northern neighbors.

Great pictures! Nice perspectives

About the driving, we do it more like in S-Europe taking the rules of to road to serious isn't a hobby of most Belgian I also need to say that while visiting Germany/The Netherlands you defenatly notice that not only the cities but also traffic is a lot less chaotic than in belgium.

I agree traffic can be a mess, but I have to say it's better when temperatures are below 30°C. When it's hot people drive like crazy.

These are the flags of all the countries Antwerp has trade/business relations with (mostly via the Port).

I appreciate that you really put thought and effort into correcting lens and perspective distortion. It really gives a lot more impact to urban landscape and architecture photography!

Antwerp is pretty relevant in the modern fashion world because it boasts one of the world's most important fashion schools, the Antwerp Academy. It has brought forth several pretty renowned designers, like Dries Van Noten and Martin Margiela.

Antwerp had a fashion week until 2009. Now they're down to annual fashion weekends and of course the runway shows of the academy. The real promotion of Antwerp fashion happens in Paris and Milan though, not in Antwerp itself, and most of the designer that graduate from the academy move on to pursue a career in London, Paris, Milan,... the usual.

So Antwerp is a relevant factor in fashion, but that basically comes down to that school. It does bring along quite an extraordinary array of shops, so fashion is quite alive in Antwerp and shopping facilities is pretty above average for a city its size, but it does not ooze fashion in the same way or scale as, let's say, Paris or Milan.
