Oh, no! These are from the new Metrorail orange line that goes to MIA. This is the view you get along the way. I think this one below is my best offering from that trip composition-wise.

This is more like what I set out to capture that morning. I think this is it!

Oh, wow! That IS a pretty big-rig tractor. I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it. I'm still trying to figure out which of my skyline shots from this perspective I like best. The Miami skyline looks huge from the Metrorail airport extension, but when I zoom out too much, it looks too far away. Not sure which shot in-between I like the most. I look at that skyline and I think to myself - "Wow! There's more coming even as we speak!"

That link is 7-years-old though. Half these projects are dead and more have been born since then. It's interesting just as a point of reference and for pinpointing where everything is in relationship to everything else. Brickell Citicentre is not there, not even the originally planned one. OBP is not there and 1101 Brickell isn't outlined either. There was even more planned later in 2005 than what is shown here. I knew at that point that if not even half of this gets built, Miami will have the third largest skyline in the country and that is the way it happened. Brickell is going to have great density by the end of this decade, but we need those Miami World Center lots developed badly.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, probably impossible to answer; but aproximately how much would it cost to buy the whole lot of buildings and land which is now in between Biscayne Blvd., Chopin Plaza and the Miami River; (Intercontinental and surrounding buildings).
Anyone care to do a guess? |
