China Eastern to add one more flight linking Hefei and Taipei from Sept. 9
(WCARN.com, July 25)

Quote:
It is learned from Anhui Branch of China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited that China Eastern will increase the frequency of Hefei-Taipei flight, in order to meet the demands of economic and trade and cultural exchange between Anhui province and Taiwan.

From September 9, there will be flights flying from Hefei to Taipei on Sundays. By then, the Hefei-Taipei flight will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using an Airbus A320 aircraft.

Here are some photos from my most recent trip to Taiwan last week. Overall I thought the quality of the renovation done at Terminal one to be quite good. They still have a lot of work ahead of them.. only about 50% or so of the main terminal has been renovated. But the part they did renovate I thought were well done. All the bathrooms I visited were very nicely renovated and they were modern and clean. However, the bathroom at the lower level at my gates were still older.. But at least they were all clean.. Overall I was impressed with the renovation, but I can't wait until everything is complete... They were working with an existing building so I didn't expect much, but I am sure terminal 3 when they builit it will be much better..

Main complaint is that I wish they will do something with the outside walls and roof at terminal 1.. Clean it or replace them or something.. It just doesn't match the new renovations.

Was there several months ago (A4 I guess) and must say I was quite impressed, spacious waiting room, definitely some references to the traditional architecture. It was one of the better spaces of the Taoyuan airport, altough it really might need renovation soon, but its definitely not bad at all.

Visited 4 airports the past month and here is my conclusion:

Amsterdam - Schiphol - Functional but it's old and the waiting area is crap. Security check is very slow. Food is bloody expensive ( 8 euros for a mcDs breakfast??)

NYC - La Guardia - IS THAT EVEN AN AIRPORT? looks like a factory! shocking!

NYC - JFK - fuctional - worse than Taiwan Taoyuan T1 before renovation.

Chicago - O'Hare - The better looking airport in the states BUT to Kali's standard, this is definitely a fail! It's worse than our T2 and def worse than our T1 after renovation.

We shouldnt look to the WEST, look closer. Learn from Singapore, Hong Kong, Incheon, China etc.

you cant say that jfk airport as a whole sucks because jfk has some nice terminals. their international airport is new and jet blue has just built a new terminal as well.

look, jeremy lin is promoting terminal 1!!

Wow, it actually looks pretty nice in news footages! Glad we don't have to be embarrassed about the quality of our airport now (or, at least, how it looks on camera).
