Poverty alleviation is much higher comparably with other states in India under Dravidan parties. Anyway all these will not help you to understand who are born with bias against other section of society will never appreciate it even the God who people claim existing can't also change your perception.

The TN top parties ADMK & DMK have done more for the lower strata of the society in TN than other parties and thats why they have been winning the elections continuously.

We may criticise them that without formulating a steady economy generating mechanism, they are spending money on freebies. But no doubt that they are able to reach the lower strata better than others.

This is just ridiculous what she's doing. If she does not want TN to have anything to do with Sri Lanka in the first place, then why have a Sri Lankan High Commission in the first place...may as well do away with that too.Oh and hey...let's stop imports and exports as well....that ought to do it, dont you think..!!! Reinforcing her anti-Sri Lankan stance, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa Sunday ordered the return of two football teams from the island nation that are in the city to play friendly matches.
Jayalalithaa also ordered not to hold any football matches involving Sri Lankan players in the state.
She also ordered the suspension of the stadium officer at the Nehru Stadium here for allowing the football team from Royal College of Colombo to play a friendly match against the Chennai Customs football team Friday.
Condemning the central government for permitting Sri Lankan football teams to come to India to enhance their skills, Jayalalithaa said: "Such an action is an insult to the people of Tamil Nadu."
According to her, the management of Royal College of Colombo (RCC) contacted an official of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) here to organise a friendly football match with the teams here.
The RBI official facilitated such a match and the Sri Lankan team came here Thursday and played the match Friday at the Nehru stadium.
She said the stadium officer permitted the match on an oral request from the RBI official.
"The stadium officer has no power to permit any match at the Nehru Stadium. Only the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has such a power. The stadium officer has demeaned the sentiments of the Tamil people by exercising an authority that he does not have," Jayalaltihaa said.
The other football team from Sri Lanka is from Hilborn International School comprising of eight players and a coach who are here to play a match against Velammal International School.

Think this is a preemptive strike from her..

I m sure some pro-LTTE people like MDMK or other guys will make this an issue and condemn the Govt for disowning our Tamil brothers blah blah..

Or thatha itself will issue an arikkai saying Jaya doesn't care for tamils n sh*t..

Thats why, for the past few issues, before these people could open their mouths, Jaya itself raises the issue.. And the other parties have to support her then.

Totally agreed... It is time to have more business contacts with Island nation particularily with Jaffna region. But looks Jaya wants to oppose each and every thing. Both the parties have not taken any concrete steps to pressure CG to estabilsh better trade relation b/w war affected region and TN or rest of the country.

both DMK and ADMK has strong vote bank due to their dominance in 70s, 80s.
with the absent of 3rd front, both these parties are enjoying the benefits by taking the smaller parties.

when we dont have choice in State level for the last 50 years, how can we expect a 3rd front at the national level overnight?

there is no big difference when you oppose a sport team or whereas you welcome the same number of people to play for your team.

There is a difference btwn players and a team. When as a team, they represent the country Sri Lanka. But as individual players, they are just private members. Its like those numerous businessmen and tourists visiting TN for their work. They don't represent the Govt of SL by any way.

TN govt is not opposed to private SL people but opposed to the policies of SL Govt,SL as an entity.

Pak players were technically allowed if u remember but no team picked any of them.

And yes, if tomo, if a Ind vs SL match was to be held at Chennai, Jaya should oppose it if she thinks on the same lines.
