Had a walk down late last week and they have started paving the bit directly above atkinsons (basically starting where they finished the last lot of paving).

Application gone in to split the old peacocks unit into two separate units. Also changes to rear of building and basement for what looks like a gym or similar.

Not neccessarily. The Peacocks unit would be fine for their temporary store, but not for the full size one. Given they want to be in a full size store by the end of 2013, its possible that this new application is going in now so that work can start to convert the unit as soon as TJ moves out.

Yeah it's gonna be demolished as part of the Moor redevelopment. Its gonna be replaced by the glass dome fronted building.

Yeah my thoughts exactly, lets fuck Sevenstone off and get some of these empty shops reopened. Offer cheap rents on a fair few of em to entice them back. Then after that the council could rethink how they could improve the shopping environment.

Still the Moor does certainly need a lot of work done to it to put it up to scratch with Sevenstone an absolute must imo as well as improving pedestrian links to the rest of Sheffield City Centre in particular by either re-routing Furnival Gate or sinking Furnival Gate underground. Is the old Sunwin House / McDonalds building redevelopment plans on track and have any pre-lets been announced for that. |
