I second that. Probably more noticeable a night.

I would have to say Dallas or Austin, but I cant decide. Houston has the numbers and density but that isnt the only criteria. Dallas has a small skyline but is at least architecturally more interesting in its varied shapes and styles. Austin is on the rise however and is a work in progress.
San Antonio surprised me for its varied architecture too ima |

Dallas is more unique skyline, than Houston. DAL and HOU about the same in size, but Dallas is more interesting, both just to walk inside of downtown (different districts, like West End, old museum), plus close proximity to Uptown really makes the whole area (downtown + uptown) really walkable, in a future could transform into something bigger, more 'city feel', maybe like some resemblance to SF, NY. in Houston nothing really happens in downtown, everything is concentrated in GAlleria uptown area, which is still not pedestrian-friendly at all. And I don't even care if Houston has a couple of buildings taller than Dallas, that really doesn't add value to it. SO Dallas wins!
Was also impressed by Austin skyline, grows really fast, interesting buildings! Ft Worth i think needs to catch up. for Dallas i'd recommend building some 1000ft+ skyscraper to surpass Houston, and Houston should just develop Uptown/Galleria area as life organically grows there. My faves: Dallas Houston Austin SA FW

Someone give me a REAL reason. How in the blue Hell is THIS small?
image hosted on flickr ![]() ![]() It isn't Manhattan or Chicago's Inner Loop or anything like that. But small? Really? |

You need to get out more then.
Compared to other cities it's size (especially many European cities for example) Dallas has a pretty large skyline.

Dallas has a large skyline for the region, but for the world not so much.

Well, Dallas just doesn't go by Chinese rules: "My business just passed the $1 million annual sales mark, time to build a 100 STORY HEADQUARTERS!"

I hate to admit but I get where he's going with the Dallas skyline is small notion. And DFW in population isn't really small by world standards, its no high ranking megacity but these days 7 million people puts a place in the average category it seems.
What the Metroplex or most US cities lack is a forest of midrises. |

Brazil does too, but they're less prosperous and prefer to build on top of each other rather than mow down ecosystems and build suburbs

The DFW Metroplex is basically two metro areas that just so happened to grow into each other. |
