"...What were some of the engineering challenges on 4 World Trade? Mr. Demerjian: One of the exciting things we’re doing is creating an outdoor terrace on that setback for tenants to use as functional space, like Rock Center. That’s up on the 56th floor, which is taller than 7 WTC. Some of the challenge is the wind. How do you deal with that and create a windscreen? We’re talking about that, making sure it’s a usable, friendly space. There are some challenges with that and it’s great..." |

Lots of great pictures from inside 4WTC.
![]() http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2012/0...ade_center.php "The big headline of the 9/11 anniversary is that construction will resume at last on the September 11 museum, which has been stalled while the parties involved in the construction—lookin' at you, Port Authority, governors of New York and New Jersey, and Mayor Bloomberg—disagreed over site control and costs. Construction will resume next week, according to the agreement, and work in progress is the theme of the entire World Trade Center site at the moment. Developer Larry Silverstein invited the press inside the recently topped-out 4 World Trade Center late last week, and photographer Will Femia emerged with lots of new looks inside, which we've collected in the gallery above. The building is set to open in fall 2013." |

How thick would such a crane be? I can imagine it would be far thinner than the construction cranes since it doesn't have to carry multiton weights

looks rather dull to me - but to each their own.
The good thing is that they are doing lots of interior work. If the entire building is truly finished and opened by next Sept 11 that would be great. I wonder why WTC seems to lag so far behind? |

When do skyscraper office buildings look exciting or bright inside?

I am confused. I thought each washrooms on each floor are customized according to the Tenant. |

Not always. Most tenant lobby floors will have publicly accessible restrooms. Their remaining private floors are usually built to their specs. At least that's what I've seen in the office buildings I've worked in.

Yeah the washrooms on our floors in the original 1WTC were publicly accessible, as they were near the elevator banks. We had private bathrooms on each floor that were more opulent, and had a locker room and shower, but these were only accessible to employees.
I assume 4WTC isn't going to be much different. |
