KTM Staff housing along Silat Ave
Hi all,
I am not able to recall the exact road name and block numbers. But the two or three blocks were build by HDB for the Malaysian govt to house the KTM staff...police etc. I think its Silat Ave/Rd Its just off Kg Bahru road. Has anyone got the pictures of these two blocks? I remember that the carpark in between the blocks at night are not lit.

Actually not just this part of the road, along the way. You can see old Kampung houses with people living inside and actually don't need to go far. If you take the train from Tanjong Pagar or arriving Tanjong Pagar, you should find children crossing railway tracks at the rail yard near Tanjong Pagar taking bicycles and some houses, sometimes also got Malaysian's motorbike park there.

There are 2 blocks, theyre located at Spooner Road. Beside that theres also a large clubhouse called Running Bungalow built in a style possibly in the 1930s-1950s era. They should still be there for a while more. |

Hi everyone,
Just piggybacking on this topic here. If anyone is interested to walk the entire 23km railway track this weekend (last chance to do so), you might want to take a look at my blog post which covers from Kampong Bahru to Woodlands. http://hyacinthus.wordpress.com/2011...-to-woodlands/

Hopefully the blocks can be hoarded up or vagrants might sneak-in. Besides just demolishing them now..maybe they can be spruced up and rented out until plans are firm for the area. These flats are contiguous with the depot and warehouse...a very large and prime area.
Thanks for the pics, hya

The flats are now being renovated and repainted maybe up as rental flats.
The steel playground has been removed.
