Baton Rouge= Green City

http://theadvocate.com/features/peop...m_medium=email

"Baton Rouge may be most tree-covered city in United States"

"Abdollahi and his students recently completed a scientific study of the more than 1 million trees within Baton Rouge’s city limits. Those trees compose a canopy that covers 44 percent of the city — a larger percentage than the professor can find in any other North American city. Atlanta’s 36 percent coverage is second"

And I still think we could use 500,000 more.

There are tons of cities/metros throughout the South with an extensive tree canopy, especially around the fall line and into the Piedmont. I suppose one could make calculations for city limits proper, but that varies extensively from state to state. Still, nice coup for Baton Rouge. I love a nice canopy.

Charlotte has a fantastic tree canopy, but nothing close to that beautiful Spanish moss. Kudos to Baton Rouge!!!! A beautiful city with a VERY hospitable university.

Yes, there's nothing like those majestic oaks in the coastal plains region of the South. They always make me feel right at home.

Most of those oak pictures are from LSU's campus.
