Mabini, Batangas is Regional Winner for Gawad Pamana ng Lahi Awards 2012

Courtesy of www.panoramio.com /

Mabini has achieved another milestone in being adjudged winner of CALABARZON抯 Gawad Pamana ng Lahi 2012-Municipality Category. And they will be Region抯 entry to the Gawad Pamana ng Lahi National Level. Here's the good news...

Quote:
Anilao is regional Gawad Pamana ng Lahi winner

THE MUNICIPALITY of Anilao was adjudged regional winner in the recently concluded Gawad Pamana ng Lahi (GPL) Awards-municipal category after a series of validation from the regional GPL Team composed of representatives from the different national agencies.

Gawad Pamana ng Lahi is a total award concept of the Department of Interior and Local Government conferred to a Province, City or Municipality which recognizes exemplary performance of local government units all over the Philippines in Administrative Governance, Social Governance, Economic Governance and Environmental Governance.

The mechanism involves assessment of LGU contenders based on the on-line Local Governance Performance Management System, acknowledged innovations, awards received, compliance to anti-red tape act and full disclosure policy among others.

The municipality bested the five other shortlisted municipalities within the region after three consecutive validations. This came handy with the strong commitment to transparent, participative and accountable public service of the officials, employees and Anilaonons headed by Mayor Matet Debuque. As such, Anilao will represent Region VI to the National Gawad Pamana ng Lahi Awards.

An inspiration story of Successful TESDA Student from Batangas Now helps poor students achieve….

I recently read this true inspiring story from one of country’s leading news websites called: www.mb.com.ph and thought to share it with you.

This is an inspiring story of a poor Batangue駉 student named Walter de Castro Ozaeta who achieved his goal of graduating from TESDA and became incredibly successful. He now helps poor students achieve their dreams…

Here’s his inspirational story….

Quote:
TESDA Idol’s Passion: Helping Poor Youths
By EDD K. USMAN
September 16, 2012

MANILA, Philippines — Walter de Castro Ozaeta is a self-made man who could have easily made more money and even become a multimillionaire.

Instead Ozaeta chose to dedicate his life to helping youths from poor families get an education and improve their lives.

“It is a wonderful feeling at day’s end having helped others. The help that we give to our fellowmen is our wealth,” Ozaeta, now 29, said.

By “us” Ozaeta meant his wife, Kristine, and their four-year-old son, Josef Kenwalt Kirsten.

“It warms the heart when you see someone you helped in their studies who did not have anything in their house,” Ozaeta said in his Batangueno tongue.

That dedication earned Ozaeta recognition from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). He is the national winner in the Self-Employed Category of the 2012 TESDA Idols. continue

British aerospace firm invests P2B in PH

ABS-CBNnews.com
Posted at 09/17/2012 8:03 PM | Updated as of 09/17/2012 8:03 PM

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine unit of British firm B/E Aerospace is investing around P2 billion to manufacture aircraft galleys at the First Philippine Industrial Park in Batangas.

Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) director-general Lilia de Lima said the project will start in 2013, but the groundbreaking for the facility is scheduled for the first week of October.

De Lima said the project is significant since B/E Aerospace supplies the world's aircraft manufacturers.

B/E Aerospace is the world's leading provider of interior products and solutions and distributor of aerospace fasteners and consumables for commercial, business jet and military markets.

De Lima said the British company is making a P700 million investment in addition to the initial investment of over P1 billion.

The project is expected to generate around 143 jobs.

hehe may nabasa kasi ako tol e2 ayon sa Summer Institute:
Hence the Summer Institute of Linguistics called this province the Heartland of the Tagalog Language . A strong presence of the Tagalog culture is clearly visible to the present day.
Linguistically Batangueños are also known for their unique affectation of often placing theparticles eh or ga (equivalent ofparticle ba Filipino ), usually as a marker of stress on the sentence, at the end of their spoken sentences or speech; for example: "Ay, oo, eh!" ("Aye, yes, indeed!"). Some even prolong the particle 'eh' into 'ala eh', though it really has no meaning in itself.
The present "center" of the Tagalog culture and people is Taal , Batangas , being its birthplace, and is still the"Heartland of the Tagalog Culture". Most of the culture of the Tagalog people is passed on by oral tradition, despite the existence of a writing system. This is because even if they were literate and had a written tradition before the Spaniards arrived, they wrote their ideas on perishable leaves and branches.
