Any one out there who invested in Empire Tower?

They sent letters last October 2010 that construction is stopped and they are looking for new subcontractors.
I have e-mailed them couple of times but they dont respond.

I am afraid we will have to kiss our money goodbye. Another "reliable" project...

So much disrespect for investors... I wonder why UAE tolerates that attitude. Isn't it obvious that by allowing developers to behave like that, the investor confidence in the country is lost forever?
I will rather take my money elsewhere and tell everyone to do the same, rather than dealing with unreliable developers who dont even bother to answer.

Are you sure these pictures are for Empire Tower. I was on site today and I'd have thought they were Tameer Towers. Empire TOwer looked as if nothing had started...

Definitely Empire Tower. Construction has stopped and the cranes are all taken down though.

another letter from Empire saying basically... nothing!
"Thank you for your patience, we are committed to build the tower and we will let you know some time in the future"!!!

In other words, they have no clue whatsoever and i am afraid our money is gone.
They just buy time to get rid of their creditors and investors...

I am new to this threads and I thought that I should share the information I have as i am affected investor due to this project delay.

Actually, I met personally one of the developer family member in July 2011 to know if i should take my money back or continue the investment in empire tower and he explained the current status and obstacles they have and he positively expected that the project will resume in Dec 2011.

till then and if nothing happens the I am going to meet Him again but with different mode.

Thanks for the info Bosoud. I would like to believe that they will resume construction, but i doubt it. They have stopped for more than a year now and i am afraid they have financial problems like all developers with ambitious plans. But they won't admit it of course.

At this stage it would be nice if i could get my money back, but i doubt they will do this either.

Anyway, please post more information if you have the chance.

Update (in case anyone follows this thread lol):

Last letter received from Empire on 26/2/2012 says "good news" which is basically nothing. They just ask us to be patient for an indefienite amount of time!

I called them today 23/9/2012 (by the way they have a Dubai number 04-4389555) and i was told to send an e-mail to receive an answer.

The lady on the phone however admitted that the project is still "on-hold" and no progress whatsoever has been made.

Again, if anyone wants to team up and discuss legal options, drop me a personal message.
