Marasy

Abu Dhabi, UAE
939,000 SF
Residential, hotel

CBT, in collaboration with landscape architects Carol R. Johnson Associates, designed this mixed-use residential waterfront complex in Abu Dhabi. This unique development consists of 350 residential units within seven buildings and provides a strong retail presence at the street level.

Marasy reflects its coastal environment through its siting and building configuration and through nautically-inspired design elements such as the structures’ sloping, metallic roof planes. The building façades are an intricate composition of light-colored wall planes, glass bays, and cantilevered terraces. The goal of the design was to evokes a crisp, tropical, seaside environment. The individual residences are all designed to capture extraordinary waterfront views while maximizing privacy. The complex features soaring glass atriums and natural light-filled hallways that enable users to travel directly from theirs cars to their homes without having to go outside.

Externally, they look finished, but inside who knows? I would say they will be opening by the end of the year if not sooner. While they've cleaned up the immediate area - the abandoned boats, cars, trash blowing around - it is still dirty and smelly all around this marina. I am sure these are nice buildings with decent views, but it is still an area that I wouldn't want to live in. If you've been there you know what I am talking about

The first phase of the development (Building 8) is now being leased with the first tenants having already moved in. The next phase will be ready for occupation in the next few weeks. I understand that Asteco is leasing the project on behalf on ICT.

Residents start to move in at Al Bateen

Quote:
Al Marasy offers waterfront living in the heart of the city.

A well-kept secret, the Al Marasy development at Al Bateen is approaching completion and the first of the units have now been handed over to residents.

As usual, Abu Dhabi Week was invited by developers International Capital Trading (ICT) to have a sneak peek at this fashionable new waterfront residential development.

With underground parking, the whole development is pedestrianised and designed so that almost all residences are sea facing.

The unique positioning of the buildings also ensures that even in the height of the summer months, any breeze blowing through is caught by the buildings and channeled through shaded and landscaped areas.

Add to this an exclusive health club with all mod cons, retail outlets, swimming pool and wonderful views of the Al Bateen Marina and surrounding islands, and this really is a new oasis in the centre of the city.
