...so here we are a couple of months later and I still have not figured out how to work my new toy hence no photos for the Silver Spring update. Perhaps this weekend would be a great time to figure this out.

Silver Spring Update:
1. Eleven55 has been topped out for nearly 6-weeks. The tower crane is set to be dismantled whenever the weather decides to cooperate. The facade is about 40% complete. As part of this development, Dixon Ave will be extended through the parking garage at Dixon and Bonifant to Ripley. The second level of the parking structure, where Dixon will be extended, has been removed. (Under seperate contract(s), Dixon will eventually terminate at Silver Spring Street).

2. The new Silver Spring Library has finally started. The prior work was utilities. Now work on the actual structure has commenced.

3. The Heritage recently topped out. Facade work continues.

4. The Premier is nearing ground level along the Georgia Ave elevation.

5. The residential building across the street from the Civic Building is nearing completion.

6. Insight Property Group has fully demo'ed the former Post Office in anticipation for a residential development on the property.

Besides the SSTC, did I miss anything?

None that I can think of. The new Safeway Tower in Wheaton has topped also. The mixed use development across the street is needed as that tower needs some company...lol

Updates

Fenwick Station (former post office) is well underway:

Eleven55 has topped out and is in the process of cladding:

Too bad about that transit center, though... http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/...239_story.html

Question: Are there any new tallest proposals in the works anywhere in Silver Spring?

Not in Silver Spring. They just topped off the Ripley St development which I believe is SS new tallest. North Bethesda and the White Flint area are the areas to watch for any new tallest in MoCo...

I think I remember talk that the Discovery Building would have a 300' observation tower at the corner of Wayne Ave & GA Ave. I could be wrong, either way, they did not include the tower portion.

Discovery's HQ, at one time, was proposed to be a 27-story tower.

I drove by the Fenwick Station site yesterday afternoon. Tower crane footing and the first section of the mast have been installed.
