Seeking help to cut models in CNC

Hello, for a while now I've kept on wondering how people prepare CAD drawings or Vector drawings for use of CNC machines. I'm currently an Architecture student in my second year but every single model I've done has been by hand and knife. While cutting and tracing it's fun, i'm at that point where I'm battling with time to get them done, so that's why i'm here.

I know how to use Revit Architecture 2012, Autocad 2011(somehow), and Illustrator (which i have learned it's useful for vector drawings). My school has its own CNC machines to cut project for students for a small fee, but i don't know how to prepare my patterns or whatever i need to do. I haven't asked anyone there because i'm far from school and not attending this semester, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some things to know about in my situation are:

- knowledge of the programs written above.
- The school i believe has both a laser cnc and a plasma cnc.
- Materials we use are chipboard, acrylic, wood, and rarely aluminum.
- they charge like 5 dollars an hour or half an hour, something like that lol.

Any help would be nice and greatly appreciated. I'm not on a hurry right now so if there's anything to learn, i have time.

I think Autocad is best software for drawing cut model in CNC. There are many tutorial on net from which you can get detail idea.

all of the ones i have watched basically tell me that but they don't really tell you how. Also, they mention other programs i have no idea about, some even mention some kind of coding which i'm completely ignorant about.

EDIT: it takes me to Amazon. And no, i don't find any videos that show you how, all i find is how to program G-code and stuff like that.
