I think that this will do wonders for the city. Any updates? I'm bumping this because everytime I am in Yorkdale, I wonder why in the world the surrounding areas are so bland.

Because what should be miles of vibrant high street shopping has all been sucked inside a complex called Yorkdale. Yorkdale is a prime example of how a mall can devastate the area around it. Can you imagine how amazing the area would be if all those stores poured their dollars into neighbourhood stores instead of the mall?

So you have a negative opinion on Yorkdale? I'm confused, even if the stores were outside and lined down the street, do you think they would be pouring dollars into the neighborhood? I believe that there can be both aspects due to the prime location of the mall. It just takes some ambitious people with amazing vision and foresight to do so.

Because its a post-war suburban industrial area. Those typically aren't pretty.
