There is a real lack of themeparks where I live. The Raleigh-Durham area must be one of the largest metro areas without an amusement park of its own.

I've been to:

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA (once)
Carowinds in Charlotte, NC (a few times)
Emerald Point in Greensboro, NC (several times)
Elitch Gardens in Denver, CO (once)
Water World in Denver, CO (twice)
And then all the parks in Orlando, FL:
Disney's Magic Kingdom
Disney's Epcot
Disney's MGM
Universal Studios (both sides)
Sea World

Out of all the parks, I'd say I liked Busch Gardens the most, although it's an unfair comparison as that's the only one I visited as an adult.

In consolation, we do have the state fair in Raleigh. It's only once a year, but even if we had a permanent theme park I'd probably only go once or twice anyway. We also have a kickass zoo--possibly the best in the country after San Diego's. It's practically a theme park due to its size.

Speaking of spending money in NW Ohio... You guys have been BUSY in Toledo! I've only been gone a year and was in town a few days ago. I can't believe how well things have cleaned up! The city looks great!

I haven't been to cedar point since 2006. I'm thinking its time to go!
