STAMFORD | South End Redevelopment

Stamford,Connecticut

I recently went to Stamford to check on all the redevelopment and Urban Renewal going on....there's alot city wide. I only revisited Harborpoint and South End and part of the Downtown. Most of the Urban Renewal is in South End in the old Industrial and Warehouse areas. Some of the Warehouses have been refurbished and will be turned into lofts , most were torn down for luxury high rises...and mixed use buildings. The Downtown Urban Renewal involves getting rid of the parking lots and replacing them with mixed use buildings....

The Northern part of Stamford is underway Urban Renewal along a few streets and where the streets are upgraded and made into Muti-Modal corridors and the zoning is changed to encourage 2-3 story mixed use buildings kinda like a Main Street affect. The Parking its placed in the back and the sidewalk is widen. Same is happening along the route 1 Corridor. To go with all the Redevelopment a Tram Network is in planning and an addition train station on the East side.

Thanks for sharing, no single living human being in the pictures. Maybe because of the weather and/or the day you visited?

It was abit chilly that day...but the Newer areas are still pretty auto-sprawled so less human activity on the streets.
