The first picture is interesting, but somehow I dont think it will turn out like that. if its nice and green thats one thing, but other than that it fails to impress.
they actually asked me to submit a tender for web-based p.r, viral marketing and so on and i mentioned that bullshit. i didnt get it of course, i dont think they were interested in that.
Thanks for these. I think that while this is less exciting than the likes of PP, which is something special due to its height, this looks to be a high-quality development, with a splash of colour and interesting shape. The northern part of Millwall Dock should look great when all these developments have finished.
Hey - Walked past this development the other day - very exciting news!
They've started the cladding - it will be controversial - Vertical strips along the sides - Alternatively beige - and coloured!
The coloured strips alternate vertically, form Red to Blue - Proper full on red and bright blue - so adding a major colour splash to the dock - will complimnent the white of Pan Peninsula beautifully.
I'm sure some people won't like it - could be seen as garish - but as a local resident I think it's FAB!
Any chance someone can take photos and post some shots? (not sure how to myself).
tis fine - a splash of colour indeed. The beige looks cheap (see Brewery Wharf in my hometown Leeds). Rather small balconys, but hey ho, better than nothing.
I like the way the architects have used and been inspired by the local vernacular of waste storage to instill a sense of place and identity into the scheme.
That must be a protective colouring surely? I mean im all for adding inovative design and colour to the wharf, but ive got a horrible feeling something like that would look tacky and gives an immediate look to the building that has aged.
I like it - there's no colour anywhere on the Island - so will make a nice change - I think the pale blue bits are peel-offs, the others look like proper final panels.
Oh - somebody mentioned the water is green - very odd, happened over the lasst few days - maybe because of the sudden sun?
