(shock and horror) Low-quality prepackaged food at Target?! They've made the place smaller to fit in the city, but it's fundamentally suburban. I think it would be great if they added upscale products and fresh food, but at some point it's no longer a Target.

It's a block from Pike Place. It's NEVER going to win the 'fresh' game. It's doing what it does well and the people who shop there know what they're getting when they step into a Target for groceries.

That's great news! It's a pretty big gamble, but since they have a large number of businesses moving at the same time, maybe it'll work.

That's awesome! Too bad Urban Visions isn't moving forward with their project already.

Very pleased at this news. That area has been left a wasteland for too long.

Went to Bellevue Square today for the first time in several months, and was stunned to see how big the new Apple store there is.

Il Corvo is GREAT! Very simple, but so fresh and creative. So many good things are set to happen in Pioneer Square. I dream of an arcade make over of some of the alleys around there. It would be great for the various tours in that neighborhood.

University Village's new parking garage is now under construction again. They're speeding up the construction. A lot of process within few days now.

I noticed that! It's been bugging me for many months that the construction site has been a big parking lot and that there's been a yellow tower crane sitting completely idle! I'm very happy to see this project going again. I haven't been able to find much of the way of renderings of it (anyone have any?), but from what I have been able to find, it looks, pretty cool -- much more interesting than the north-garage counterpart.

However, I wish University Village/45th Street viaduct area would improve the access to the bus stop on Montlake Blvd and create a new crossing on 45th street to make it easier and quicker to get to the bus stop instead walking extra yards under the viaduct. It is very awkward to get to the bus stop from U-Village even the parking garage construction are somehow get in the way. Plus shopping carts mess made it worse and difficult to get there. |

Speaking of shopping carts near the U-Village - a few days ago I was driving by on 45th and noticed a cart wrangler QFC on the south side of 45th with maybe 10 carts! It would be easy to think he was doing his regular duty in their own parking lot at that point. I wonder if they're thing about working with SDOT or the UW to put a cart rack near the bus stop. Might keep the carts organized and out of the sidewalk or roadway.

5th Avenue downtown still has a lot of empty retail space. Kinda sucks. And now Pine Street from 7th up to the Hyatt is all empty. Lets get this shiznit filled already.
