While it is a good thing that the gap in the skyline at this spot will finally be closed, I'm not sure whether the copper-coloured cladding will fit in with the neighbouring buildings.

1 Alfred Street which will be built to the north of 200 George has a similar colour scheme.

It turns out it is not actually copper-coloured cladding, but rather a timber slated facade with clear glazing. Kind of unique!!

Here is another render and the ground level floor plan

From George Street (looking north)

Also here is the ground level layout

There's quite a few curvaceous towers in the pipeline that's for sure - also some with sloping roofs

Not the best shot to explain with, but the small building in front of the Marriott and the building next to it (to the right of the palm trees)

Now I have always wondered why those buildings are almost exactly the same height?

No idea to be honest

Mirvac, the developer, has lodged a DA for the demolition of the existing buildings. They must have secured an anchor tenant and have to work on a tight deadline!! Rumour has it that Ernst & Young have signed and will move 8 blocks north along George Street from their current location at World Square.

look a lot taller than 155m - looks ~170m. Maybe just the angle of image or sheer bulk but then again most buildings in Sydney look a lot taller than what they are. Do they sit on a relatively high RL?

No, this is virtually on the same block as the rest of the buildings at Circular Quay

Early February Update
